Welcome back snow birds! There are many Fort Lauderdale dog parks and beaches for you and your pet to enjoy this winter. Below is a list of Fort Lauderdale dog parks and beaches.
Fort Lauderdale dog parks and beaches:
Canine Beach:
- Located at A1A and Sunrise Blvd and run North 100 yards.
- Winter hours are from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and summer hours run from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Fort Lauderdale dog parks and beaches
- Annual permits – January 1 – December 31
- Fort Lauderdal Residents – $30.00 and for non-residents $45.00
- Weekend permits (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) can be purchased for $7.00 per dog.
- Annual permits must be purchased in person at:
- 1350 West Broward Blvd. Office hours M- F 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Dog Walking A1A:
- Fort Lauderdale Beach to Seabreeze Blvd.
- Dog walking on A1A is permitted 365 days per year from 6:00 am to 9:00 am.
- Dogs must be walked on the West side of A1A from Sunrise Blvd. to the Southern most intersection of Ft. Lauderdale Beach Blvd. and Seabreeze Blvd.
- An annual CanineBeach permit is required to walk dogs on the west side of A1A. You can walk dogs on the west side of A1A north of Sunrise Blvd. 24 hours per day without a permit.
Riverwalk Linear Park:
- Along the New River in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale from 20 North New River Drive from SW 5th Avenue to SE 2nd Avenue.
- Available 365 days per year, no charge or permit needed Fort Lauderdale dog parks and beaches
Bark Park at Snyder Park:

- Open 363 days per year. SnyderBarkPark is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
- Hours are from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. closed every Thursday morning from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for cleaning.
- No charge Monday through Friday. There is a $1.00 per car fee on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
Snyder Park Dog Swim:
- Dogs may swim at Snyder Park’s East Lake. Dog swimming is available daily during normal park hours. Swimming is not available on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month due to cleaning and water treatment.
- No charge Monday through Friday. There is a $1.00 per car fee on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
Oakland Park Bark Park:

- Bark Park is a 2+ acre dog park with a separate area for small dogs.
- Operating hours are from dawn to dusk and the park is closed on Wednesday until 12:00 noon.
Hollywood Dog Parks and Beaches:
The city of Hollywood also has some fantastic dog parks along with the Dog Beach of Hollywood.
