Bichon Frise: Is one of the top choices for allergy suffers. They have a double coat which minimizes the amount of dander they shed.
Poodle: The poodle has always been a very popular choice due to the fact they are low-shedders. They also have loving, playful personalities and make wonderful companions to both adults and children.
Schnauzer: Is another low shedding breed. In order to maintain their distinguished look they will need to be groomed on a regular basis. Schnauzer’s comes in three different sizes, Giant, Standard and Miniature.
Kerry Blue Terrier: Is another one of the non shedding dog breeds. They have a soft curly coat and need to be brushed often with a firm bristle brush to keep their coat from matting.
Wire Fox Terrier: This breed is great for those who suffer with allergies. They shed very little if at all and best if brushed regularly with a firm bristle brush.
Australian Terrier: This breed has a beautiful long non shedding coat. Due to their pleasant disposition they are a much sought after family pet.
Wheaten Terriers: This non shedding breed comes in multiple varieties; American, English, Traditional Irish, and Heavy Irish.The main difference is in their size. Wheaten Terriers need regular brushing with a firm bristle brush in order to keep their soft coat from matting.
Chinese Crested: This breed comes in two different varieties. One is basically hairless except for the long hair growing on their head, paws and tail. The other is called the powder puff and has long human like hair. Both varieties are low to non shedding dog breeds.
American Hairless Terrier: This short coat breed is not really hairless. They have a very short coat that does not require grooming. This breed is known to be very friendly and they make a great companion dog.
Mexican Hairless: This breed’s coat is very soft and short. They require very little grooming. Unfortunately this breed can be hard to find due to the fact there are very few breeders in the US.
Peruvian Hairless: Are a hairless medium sized breed known to be pack leaders. They are intelligent and learn quickly but can be very stubborn.
